Caltechmakers Family Hackathon
Event has EndedAbout this Event
Join us at the Hastings Library branch for a period of 3 hours to make your Halloween transformer costume out of cardboard for October 31st. You'll have the rest of the weekend to make final touches. This is a family event hosted by #caltechmakers to get kids and parents hands-on with making, building and having fun with imagination. #caltechmakers is run by the Caltech Postdoc Association STEM For Families program. Families will work individually with their kids to design, concept, build and develop their costumes. The energy of doing it together will help us push ideas, trade tips and get it done on time. We'll spend time outside, unconstrained in space and creativity. And remember, as much as transformers can be cars and robots, they also can be butterflies and fairies! We welcome girls and boys, dads and moms

Pasadena Public Library
The freedom to know is the foundation of our democracy. The mission of the Pasadena Public Library, a basic municipal service, is to be an information center for the Pasadena community in order to preserve and encourage the free expression of ideas essential to an informed citizenry.

Caltechmakers
We are a creative and inventive group of kids and parents meeting at the California Institute of Technology to make things. #caltechmakers by Caltech Postdoc Association (CPA) STEM For Families joins the budding Pasadena community of Maker Educators & Meetups to play weekly at the intersection of science, engineering, and craft. We use kid-driven short and long-term projects as means of driving discovery and education. Inspired and enriched by demo work of parents, kids, field trips and guest speakers, we'll expand our portfolio of materials, tools, trades, and skills. Designed for ages 7+.
