Educators are invited to join NASA scientists and education specialists in this FREE day-long workshop focusing on the worlds of the outer solar system. Spend the day exploring NASA’s missions to the outer planets and their moons, through presentations by NASA scientists and engineers, and by conducting engaging activities that connect to the Next Generation Science Standards for the Earth and the Solar System and incorporate science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and the nature of science.

NASA Division for Planetary Sciences
The Planetary Science Research Program supports investigations to help ascertain the content, origin, and evolution of the solar system and the potential for life elsewhere, consistent with the strategy for Planetary Science Exploration embodied in the 2014 NASA Science Plan. The Planetary Science Research portfolio contains specific Program Elements aimed at addressing these strategic objectives.

City of Astronomy
Ten Pasadena-based scientific institutions and organizations have partnered to celebrate Pasadena as the “City of Astronomy,” culminating with the first Pasadena Astronomy Festival, 2-8 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green Street.
