Introduction to CNC Fabrication
Event has EndedAbout this Event
The Supplyframe DesignLab is presenting an Introduction to CNC Fabrication as part of Innovate Pasadena Connect Week. In keeping with the theme of showcasing the creativity and ingenuity that’s right here in our own backyard, we'll be introducing attendees to the concepts surrounding fabricating objects with Computer Numeric Controlled Equipment, as well as putting those concepts into action through demonstrations of the CNC equipment at the Supplyframe DesignLab.
In this introduction, you'll learn about the common terms used when talking about Computer Numeric Control equipment, and practices common to all CNC equipment. We'll show you a variety of software tools you can use to generate models (CAD), and show you how that gets translated into controlling the actual fabrication equipment (CAM). Along the way, you'll see practical applications of the theory, when we apply our machining operations across a variety of equipment from the very small to the very large. We'll also provide examples of what happens when CNC goes wrong by analyzing various examples of failed CNC operations performed over the past few months.
No previous experience required, and we'll provide the safety glasses!
