Real-Time Object Recognition with the Raspberry Pi
Event has EndedAbout this Event
The speed and accuracy of object recognition systems have improved remarkably in the past several years with the advancement of deep convolutional neural networks and associated hardware and software platforms for training and inference. This tech talk will present and walk through the implementation of a real time object recognition system installed on a $35 Raspberry Pi mini-computer, utilizing the standard Pi camera module and an installation of Google's Tensorflow deep learning framework. Similar systems have been built previously by other inventors to predict Caltrain arrivals, automatically classify and sort cucumbers, and enhance robot navigation, all in edge computing contexts.
